Caught him just as he roared. He was at the Brookfield zoo and was sleeping most of the day. I kept going back and he finally was awake. Caught the Lion just as he roared. Captured this at a nature center. I LOVE owls! Best tiger-jpg. 040 I was photographing other birds in my backyard when I spotted the hummingbird by the beautiful Fuchsia flowers and captured this shot. New little puppy adopted by my son. Now, a few months later, he is huge.

Original post was a bit rough on this image, so I cleaned it up and uncropped it, adjusting the sat levels. By cropping it the first time I lost ... A fisheye and a kitten can be a funny combination. Landing Frog in the Pond Deer Breath Squirrel

This photo was taken at Brookfield Zoo, Brookfield, Illinois.
Time
10:45 am.
Lighting
There was good, overcast lighting that day.
Equipment
Nikon D300, Nikon 80-400mm lens and a tripod.
Inspiration
I love tigers and have taken many pictures over the years at this zoo. This is the first one ever that I captured the light in his eyes which makes the photo stand out. It is one of my favorites.
Editing
I cropped in Lightroom until the focus was primarily on his eyes. I also did a little sharpening.
In my camera bag
My Nikon camera, Nikon lenses including a 12-24mm, an 18-300mm, a 70-200mm, an 80-400mm, a 50mm and a fisheye lens, extra cards and battery and my remote shutter release..
Feedback
Spend time and take a lot of photos. I think the combination of the lighting and the tiger looking directly at me made the difference this time.
