Behind The Lens

Location

St. Joseph, Michigan at the Lighthouse there.

Time

7:54 pm.

Lighting

There were clouds with many breaks in the clouds which makes a sunset more interesting. The lighting was excellent.

Equipment

Nikon D300 camera. Tripod. Nikon 18-200 lens.

Inspiration

I went to the lighthouse specifically to catch the sunset. This one became better and better as time went on. I spotted the lone fisherman at the end of the pier on the right side and a bird in the air and captured this photo. The sunset was incredible.

Editing

I sharpened a little in Lightroom and increased the clarity a bit.

In my camera bag

My Nikon camera, Nikon lenses including a 12-24mm, an 18-300mm, a 70-200mm, an 80-400mm, a 50mm and a fisheye lens, extra cards and battery.

Feedback

Go early to the spot where the sunset will happen and stay as long as possible because the lighting changes over and over and you might miss the best shot.
