This photo was taken at my home in my yard. I have to admit that the leaves, although there were plenty, were arranged for a better composition.Time
This is one of my better images that day after taking several different shots at different angles. This was taken in the afternoon at about 2:00 PM.Lighting
This was taken in the shade with off camera flash. I used my Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT and Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT handheld over leaves.Equipment
Equipment used was my favorite camera body the Canon 5D Mk IV, EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens,Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT and Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT, tripod and remote trigger.Inspiration
Fall being my favorite season with its gorgeous autumn colors always gets me out. Seeing nature change its colors is an awesome inspiration. I can't help myself.Editing
Post processing is almost always done on any of my photos as I always shoot raw. Post processing on this photo consist of color toning, highlights, shadows, contrast, and exposure plus a little clarity and vibrance to bring out the colors. In my camera bag
My bag always of course has my Canon 5D MK IV, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens, Canon 24-70mm f2.8L II USM,Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT, Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT. spare batteries, cleaning cloths, and extra memory cards.Feedback
Capturing images as this one is not difficult if you are patient and take your time with composition and lighting. I gathered all these leaves and spread them out in a shady area on the west side of my house where I was getting shade from my neighbors house. I then arraigned them to get the best assortment of colors and a decent composition. Shooting straight down with camera on a tripod and handholding a speed light aiming at an angle from above with just enough power to bring the colors out. Triggered the shutter with a remote trigger as to not have any camera movement. Normally you would probably not need a remote trigger but at my age my hands are not as steady as they once were. Go out and shoot and have fun.
