I took this beauty up in Kula Maui at the Upcountry Farmers market. It was raining still and a challenge to keep the camera dry. The Upcountry Famrers Market has a beautiful view of all of the North and Southwest coasts of Maui . The view alone is amazingTime
This was taken mid morning on a rainy cloudy dayLighting
This day was cloudy and when I looked down and was able to see the reflections of light between the raindrops and the misty rains all about I took the shot. This is of course all natural light.Equipment
This was taken with a Sony A 7RII, no flash, as only natural light was needed. Handheld and PatienceInspiration
The colors with the raindrops just popped! Kula Farmers Market has a garden of flowers and a little country story, miniature horses and fancy chickens. They have the biggest and I believe the only pumpkin patch on Maui. I was there to take Macro photos of the flowers, and know if I cannot find anything I will here! They have many varieties of flower and this being more common except for here on Maui, but it was the reflections of light in the raindrops that caught my attention so I just had to take a shotEditing
Very little, maybe enhance slightly. If I do Post-Process I use Lightroom, Corel, Topaz plugins and PhotoshopIn my camera bag
I primarily use the Sony A 7RII with a SEL 18-200mm F 3.5-6.3 lens. I also carry a backup , the Canon Rebel 5 but rarely use it anymore. Although the Canon is not my favorite, one never knows when I will need those lenses or the camera. It is always wise to carry MORE. In my backpack extras of everything including car chargers, plenty of batteries and memory cards as I shoot in RAW format.I carry also the tripod and monopod with me and an umbrella, flashlight, and Macro tubes.Always learning and so my equipment grows with it. I don't forget the business cards and ipad. I try to be prepared for any shot that could come alongFeedback
I am a landscape photographer primarily so I need Patience and lots of it at times! With the I love of taking surf shots , beach scenes, nature this subject was different for me so taking risks in stepping outside my comfort zone pays off. Practice, know your camera, and more practice to get to know your camera!! Take risks, shoot outside your comfort zone and get creative, get low, get high, shoot in the dark, shade and sun, shoot everything and then go with what feels right for YOU.I think capturing the beauty of this world no matter how insignificant it may seem at the time, telling a story, capturing memories matters. Share with the world how YOU see it! Happy Shooting!
