It's been a long, dry summer and many of the local wetlands and marsh areas throughout California have virtually dried up forcing birds to find adequate water elsewhere. This snowy egret, along with numerous other varieties of birds have found refuge and food, including large fish, in the percolation ponds adjacent to the local water district treatment facility. It has suddenly become a favorite photo op spot!
