I was walking along the Fox River when I spotted some kind of bird with white on it sitting on a dead branch leaning over the river. I could not visually identify it until I looked with my camera and lens. I was so excited to finally see a Kingfisher! It was a female based on the rusty markings. I think it had just eaten a fish and was digesting it because shortly after I took these photos, she regurgitated a bunch of bone pellets. I researched the bird when I got home and found out that Kingfishers cannot pass bones through their digestive systems so they regurgitate. I think the female Kingfisher is prettier than the male for a change in the bird world!
