Location
This photograph was taken at a refuge reserve in southern Ohio. This refuge is about 100 acres with a mixture of woods and meadows.Time
This shot was taken around 10:00 AM on a spring day.Lighting
The wolf was just coming out of the woods so the lighting was shady.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3200 with a 50-300 zoom lens. This shoot was captured with camera in hand with no filters other than a skyline filter which stays on the lens at all times.Inspiration
It simply was a good shot. The wolf was emerging from the woods and it had the feel of being in the woods and walking up to the wolf, though there was a fence between us.Editing
Nothing special was done in post processing. Perhaps, a little contrast and and highlights. In my camera bag
I usually carry only a small camera bag that will hang on my shoulder. I have one camera body (Nikon D3200) and two lens (15-55MM) and (55-300mm). I have a polarized filter for each lens and a neutral density filter small the smaller lens. I have several macro attachments lens for the (15-55mm) lens in case I wish to do macro photography. I also have a remote shutter release fob, several charged batteries and an extra flash card.Feedback
If you keep looking for a shot usually a shot will present itself to you. Planning is very important is photography but sometimes just being in the right place and the right time is just as good. I did take a few test shots to insure the lighting and exposure on the camera are correct for the scene I am taking. Having done this before the wotf emerged turned out to be a smart move. After this shot the wolf went back into the woods.
