This photo was taken at Pioneer Park in Covington Kentucky. My wife and I were walking along the path next to the creek when we saw the Blue Herring in a tree across the creek. The strange part of this story is; I did not have my camera with me. I had to go back to the car to get the camera. When I returned the Herring was in the same place. This Herring stayed there for a good half hour. After I took the photo the Herring flew away.Time
This photo was taken in February around 12:30. I remember it being a fairly warm day for mid February.Lighting
I hate to coup out on this one, but it was a normal overcast day in February.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Sony. This was my first digital camera. I have sense got a new camera and do not use the Sony anymore.Inspiration
The Herring appeared to be posing for us. As I mentioned earlier it waited for me to go back to the car and get my camera before flying off.Editing
The only post processing I did was to remove some of the branches that were around the Herring. Some of the branches were cutting across the bird's body, which cause an undesirable photograph.In my camera bag
I usually carry only a small camera bag that will hang on my shoulder. I have one camera body (Nikon D3200) and two lens (15-55MM) and (55-300mm). I have a polarized filter for each lens and a neutral density filter small the smaller lens. I have several macro attachments lens for the (15-55mm) lens in case I wish to do macro photography. I also have a remote shutter release fob, several charged batteries and an extra flash card.Feedback
When a shot is meant to be it will present itself. The Herring waited until I was ready, allowed a photo to be taken, and them fly out.
