In 2014 I attended a 50th anniversary celebration of the Ford Mustang. The event was help at the Motor Speedway outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. After finishing the Mustang celebrations I went into Las Vegas to see what adventures I could find. I discovered there was a Rock-a-Billy gathering at the Orleans Casino. I must admit, I found this event much more fun than the Mustangs at the Raceway. I plan to attend another Rock-a-Billy event with more time so I can enjoy all there is to see and do. I love old cars but I am not that guy who can identify them all. So if you know what this car is please share your knowledge with us.

Location
I shot this photo in the parking lot of the Orleans Hotel In Las Vegas, Nevada during the 2014 Viva Las Vegas Rock-a-Billy Weekend. There were many people dressed in era clothing and many of them were all to happy to pose for a photo especially with all the great old vehicles.Time
The weather had begun to cool down so more people were found in the parking lot around 8:00 pm when this was shot. It was a little cloudy on this evening which adds a little texture to the skyLighting
Lighting here was existing evening sun with intermittent clouds that colored the sky. I didn't even have any supplemental light with me except the popup flash on my camera which I don't like to useEquipment
I used a Nikon D300s camera with a Tamron 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 wide angle lens Simple, straightforward setup shot handheld. I bought this lens specifically for this event and the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang which was also in Las Vegas the same weekend. I knew I would be shooting vehicles in tight settings and such a lens would be of great benefit.Inspiration
The setting with the old cars and the costumed visitors was the inspiration for this photo. I wanted to capture some memorable images to keep for future inspirationEditing
This photo was shot in color so it was converted to black and white. The guy I use for post-processing might have did a little more but he prefers to keep adjustments to a minimum. So, other than creating a black and white from color, nothing much was done as it came from the camera. In my camera bag
My kit contains a Nikon D810, which has been my goto setup with a Nikkor 105 mm f2.8 lens. Recently I upgraded my second body to a Nikon D500. I bought this body for it's lowlight capabilities. Normally the Nikkor 16-80mm f2.8-4 lens resides on the D500 and is the setup I carry when I want to travel light. For those special occasions where I need a wide view the Tamron 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 fills the void and a Tamron 150-600mm f5-6.3 helps me reach out long and far for those subjects that don't like us getting close or the animals that might cause severe bodily harm. The Nikon speedlight system works wonders for all my supplemental lighting and I carry a 12" collapsible reflector for modifying existing light. I use a Manfrotto tripod when needed.Feedback
Have an open mind and approach people politely, this would be foremost in my advice for people wanting to capture such images. Other than that keep a wide angle lens at hand so the cars will fit in the frame at the close proximity required because the vehicles are parked pretty close together.
