Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a rock along my driveway. It had been chased from the wheel of my son's car onto the rock.

Time

This is an old photo revisited, but I think it was mid morning.

Lighting

The only light was the sun high in the sky.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D5100 camera and not sure of which lens, but probably my Tamron 70-300mm as I don't like to get up close and personal on a spider that size. I took the photo handheld.

Inspiration

My favourite genre is Macro and I actually like spiders, but don't like them on me. I am always trying to get their eyes as they are so fascinating with so many.

Editing

As this is an older photo, the only editing I had was Windows 10. I would only have enhanced and a bit of clarity.

In my camera bag

I have my Nikon D5100 camera, Nikon 18-55 kit lens, Nikon micro 40mm lens and Tamron 70-399mm zoom/macro lens. I always have a spare battery and memory cards. I also have a lens cleaning pen with me.

Feedback

Firstly be safe around spiders. Being in Australia we do have some deadly spiders, so know which ones are dangerous. Have fun and experiment with different settings, but having their eyes in focus makes for a better photo. I have found dead spiders and played around with them, so that can help to get close.
