Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in a rose garden park near my house.

Time

It was almost the golden hour, but still light out - the rabbits don't get harassed much, they're pretty brave

Lighting

the sun was close to setting, but there was still enough ambient light to take decent shots

Equipment

This was taken with a Canon 70D and Tamron 16-300mm lens, handheld.

Inspiration

I enjoy wandering the park and shoot there often, who could resist snapping a shot of this little guy?

Editing

I did a bit of enhancement in LightRoom, but not a lot

In my camera bag

I normally carry a Canon 80D with a Sigma 18/300mm mounted, and/or a 5D Mk III with any number of lenses if I'm looking to shoot something specific, ranging from a 8mm diagonal fisheye to a Sigma 200-500mm telephoto depending on what I'll be shooting. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't plan shots beforehand - I'm a pretty impromptu/opportunistic photographer. I've found I spend the most time with various prime lenses and the 18-300mm Sigma though, a superzoom's range lets you capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the open

Feedback

Hares tend to be nocturnal, so you'll have the best look shooting them around sunset or dawn where there is decent light available. They can be found almost anywhere there's a greenbelt if people don't bother them too much, but you'll probably have the most luck around walking trails and the like where they've had a chance to get used to people being around.
