Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at a Taste-And-Tunes Event in Mustang Grove park, Farmers Branch Texas.Time
This was taken very late in the day - not quite the golden hour but close!Lighting
The sax was in a very shaded area, but the vendor stands behind it were still in direct sunlight - this was taken zoomed in to 300mm, which made for some decent bokeh in the background.Equipment
This was taken hand-held with a Canon 70D and Tamron 16-300mm lens.Inspiration
I was just attending the event and shooting random shots :-)Editing
This is an HDR combo of three different exposures done in LightRoom, in order to balance out the differences between shaded stage and bright backgroundIn my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon RP with a 24-240mm lens. If I'm going for something specific I'll also carry a 5D Mk III and whatever lens fits what I want to achieve. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't get to plan a lot of shots beforehand. However I've found the lenses that spend the most time on the 5D are various primes or Wide-Angle zooms. I usually have one superzoom around as it allows you to capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the openFeedback
The Tamron super-zoom I used isn't particularly great for capturing nice bokeh - you can offset that some with a zoom by getting farther away from the subject and zooming in on it, the added focal length will help.
