I spotted this little bird in my backyard last weekend. I looked it up in my bird book for my state and found out the name. These birds are the second smallest birds in Illinois and they migrate through the state in the spring and fall. They are 4 inches in size. I decided to hang around and wait to see if a male showed up which it eventually did.
