Location
A group of antelopes running in the shallow waters of the Okawango Delta, Botswana, in the South of the African continent. Picture taken from the helicopter.Time
It was August, winter time in Botswana, days are not very long. We tookoff with the helicopter from the airport around 4:00 pm for a 2 hours flight without doors over the Okawango Delta. Around 1 hour later we saw these group of antelops running on the shallow water of the delta.Lighting
Unfortunately, the light was not in my favor. As a matter of fact I was against the light, but we were flying high enough and I could manage it in somehowEquipment
For this picture I have used my one and only camera: Nikon D600. The lens was Nikor 24/70 f2,8. Details of the picture: 60mm - f2,8 - ISO 400 - 1/1000Inspiration
I was looking for a picture of animals running on the water, I saw zebras, elephants and antelops and this one of the antelops was for me the best one.Editing
As I was against the light, I had to adjust a bit the light and add little contrast. In my camera bag
As I said, I only have one camera: Nikon D600, which I think good enough for my hobby. I spent a little more with lenses, which are indeed more important than the camera itself. I have a Nikor 24/70mm f2,8 - 70/200mm f2,8 - 50mm f1,8 - 14mm f2,8Feedback
To take a picture that makes you go "wow" in wildlife photography, you need to be patient, sometimes very patient and a bit of luck. You may follow an animal for hours and nothing happens, or you can be the witness of some exciting actions. Being in the right place at the right time, or just wait for the right time to come while you are in a specific place. All animals in Africa are generaly lazy, unless is food time or faighting for a mate or territory.
