Location
This photo was taken in the Keukenhof gardens in the Netherlands in April. While these gardens are notorious for tulips, the expansive park is filled with a plethora of flowers depending on the timing.Time
This was taken not long after the park opened. Getting there early to avoid the crowds and distractions.Lighting
This was outside, natural light but on an overcast day.Equipment
Nikon D750, 24-70 at 2.8, hand held, no flash.Inspiration
At the time I was working with my new camera to improve the focus when shooting close up with narrow depth of field.Editing
Very minimal processing of the RAW image to increase vibrance, enhance the natural vignette, and contrast - all done in LightroomIn my camera bag
My D750, 24-70 and 70-200 2.8. I sometimes have a tripod and single flash, but prefer to travel light.Feedback
Take many images to practice and improve the focus. Consider the composition of the image and what is in the background. Finally some imperfections in the flower helps make the image “real”
