Location
This photo was taken at the zoo in Munich, Germany.Time
In the afternoon after the animals were feed.Lighting
The light in the picture is pure natural from the window in the sealingEquipment
Nikon D5200 body, Nikon AF-S VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED, no other equipment was used.Inspiration
I was searching to capture the wild animals expressions kept in captivity.Editing
The raw file went trough a process of color editing via Photoshop, thanks to this it has red-ish finish. And also had to adjust the white balance, because the window tint on the sealing was blue and need some more warm color. In my camera bag
Almost always D5200 body and the folowing lens NIKKOR 70-300mm one of my favorite, NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G and the kit lens 18-55mm. Sometimes i cary also sb700 speedlight and of course a lots of batery packs and extra sd cardsFeedback
The zoo has its on characteristics, its really large, if you want to get a similar shoot, I would recommend to have a comfortable shoe on your feet, because you will have to walk a lot to capture this beauties, some of them will be hidden all day, so it may happen that you will have to return into another day. I had a great luck the animals after the big lunch they was sitting out and posing for me. I would recommend a telephoto lens because if you go to close to the animals they will look at your lens, and that will ruin your capture.
