With head bowed as if in prayer, a common seagull is actually looking for food as it rides the thermals and soars over the coastal bluffs at Garrapata State Beach near Carmel, California. The sun dipped briefly behind the clouds and created this almost-ethereal effect. Not much editing required here since we had a "bird's eye view" of them as they appeared from over the cliff edge almost at eye level! Mother Nature did most of the work!

Wow nice shot. I do not think he is praying unless he is praying you will feed him. When the sun went behind the clouds it totally messed up my picture of the lilies. So you used it to your advantage. Kind of like making lemonade out of lemons. Fantastic shot. The lighting thru his wings was awesome.
