Male Adult Common Loon swimming and squawking in Bobs Lake in Ontario trying to attract attention away from mother and chick swimming near by. This was in the heat of the summer on our second outing to capture the elusive (up close that is) Male Adult Common Loon. We were able to finally secure this photo whilst kayaking within 75 feet of this bird, which continuously dove, resurfaced a few yards further away from the mother and chick. This was our second yearly attempt to capture the glorious colours of this iconic Canadian bird. Note the brilliant red eyes and the glorious neck's iradescent colours - Gavia immer.
