I spotted this hawk high in the trees in the back of my yard 2 days ago. The hawk sat there for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, I realized while viewing my photos that the hawk had blood on it's talons. I believe that the hawk had just finished eating it's prey and went on to groom itself. It was exciting to see the tail feathers spread out so wide. I have never seen this happen in the past.
