These two have been together for over 10 years and they finally decided to tie the knot! Their wedding was wonderful and full of surprises... the only thing the bride wanted was a photo of both of them kissing in the woods where she used to play when she was a little girl. I am so happy I could make this happen!!

Location
I live in Bend, OR. This is a beautiful place! This image was taken in a local park called Shevlin Park, where the bride used to live and where she spent her childhood.Time
This wonderful couple got married in the afternoon and this image was taken after a very emotional ceremony. It was about 4 pm and the light was perfect!Lighting
I love love love shooting when the sun is out. I intentionally positioned her with her back to the light so I could get the dress glowing a bit. I angled them a but so I could get bright colors in the flowers in the foreground and background.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon 5D MarkIII and a 70 - 200 mm Lens. I didn't use a tripod or a flash for this particular image.Inspiration
Photographing weddings is one of the things I truly enjoy doing because you have to work really hard, but you get to be a part of some wonderful moments. I really enjoy the fact that every couple is different, their story is unique, and what they are looking when it comes to photography is also different every time. This particular couple got married in the bride's home, this is a beautiful house located in the middle of a pine forrest. It was quite spectacular. When I talked to them about what they wanted she told me all these stories about how she and her brother used to play in this field and how much they used to love it. So for this image I wanted to show the bride and groom completely surrounded by nature; as if they were lost in it. They are both very active people and she loves this place, it means so much to both of them and that was what I wanted to show. I wanted to have a simple image, but an image that showed them completely mesmerized by each other in a beautiful and warm place.Editing
I always do some post-processing. In this case it is very little, I dodged some dark areas and manipulated the color in the image, I wanted it to look warm.In my camera bag
I carry two camera bodies: Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 7D. I also have a 50 mm prime, 70-200 mm, 24-70 mm, and a 10-22 mm, as well as some macro tubes I rarely use. I usually use a canon speedlite 580 EX II and a 430 EX II. I always have a grey card, a tripod, a monopod, and a reflector with me.Feedback
I believe that it is important to know how to use your camera in manual mode, specially when you are working at a time when the sun is shinning. However, when it comes to portraiture, 70% of your job is to make people feel comfortable and make sure they are enjoying the process. One has to know how to give directions without being bossy and know when to stop giving directions. It is all about knowing who you are photographing and understanding how to work with them.
