Thank you to all the photographers that shared their best photos showing weddings in the outdoors in the Outdoor Weddings Photo Contest with chances to win a Speedlight Flash and more!

A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Brett Florens for his collaboration as a guest judge in this photo contest. Internationally acclaimed South African photographer, Brett Florens, launched his career in 1992 while fulfilling national service obligations in the Police riot unit. Fortuitously, a photographic unit was formed to document political changes and Brett jumped at the chance to join it. With no photographic experience whatsoever, Brett had to learn how to photograph and document volatile situations. His unit evolved into a department dealing with politically motivated crimes and township violence, photography was necessary to record this important slice of South Africa’s history. Brett thrived on the opportunity and soon found himself in the thick of newsworthy events, creating images that found a ready market in newspapers and other media and having his work published around the globe.

Grand Jury Winner

"I enjoyed this image for a few reasons.  The location is beautiful and the photographer use the mountains as great leading lines to the couple.  The soft veil adds romance and additional leading lines. I love the bride’s expression and the way her hands are placed.  I know that the photographer would’ve directed this shot, however there is a tangible sense or love and endearment. Having her lift her head resulted in great lighting on an overcast day." - Brett Florens

Runner Up

"I saw this image online a few months ago and loved the powerful impact.  It is one of those  unique images that won’t be repeated soon. From a photographic perspective the composition is what makes it. The curtains in both bottom corners are perfectly placed, resulting in a dynamic image.  The Symbolism of the image is very powerful. Together forever no matter what the weather.  Love it!" - Brett Florens

Runner Up

"This image is more of a fine art piece. It poses more questions than answers.  I commend the photographer for trying something unique.  The composition and lighting is on point and it made me stop and  think. " - Brett Florens

Runner Up

"This image appealed to me for the spontaneity of it.  It is not in a gorgeous setting nor does it have epic lighting.  It is natural, real and there is a genuine connection about it." - Brett Florens

Runner Up

"This image has a fairy tail appeal to it. The composition and lighting are both good, although there is a blowout of detail on the dress.  I enjoy the negative space. The image looks like the cover for a romantic novel." - Brett Florens
