Nice capture. We have seen some black squirrels but never been able to get a good shot of them.

I hope I will never see them here!! I did read they are far more agressive and where they appear the red ones disappear sooner or later

Never seen a black squirrel we have white squirrels here yet to get a shot always see them with out my camera LOL my luck

Location
I took this at Lakeside beach state park in New York.Time
This was around 12:00.Lighting
The sun was all around us so it gave me a lot of natural light for the shot and also there were trees all around to block out a lot of the brighter sun.Equipment
I used a canon 20D.Inspiration
I had never seen a black squirrel before so i had to get the shot i watched him for awhile and got plenty of great shots of him.Editing
The only processing i did was enhance the color a little and sharpen it.In my camera bag
Right now i have a canon 70D and an 18-135mm lens and a 150-600mm lensFeedback
I would say just go out and find the shot enjoy your surroundings and have with your photography.
