This photo was taken in my backyard after an early February ice storm in northern Kentucky.Time
This photo was taken mid morning around 10:00 AM.Lighting
No artificial lighting was used. Just natural sunlight.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony Cyber-shot, I shot this using an ISO of 100 for 1/125 of an second at f8. No filter was used except an skylight filter which I usually have on the camera. I believe I was 6-8 inches from these ice cycles.Inspiration
I saw the ice cycles on a plum tree from our living window and noticed the ice cycles glistened when the sun hit them. I grabbed my camera and took 2 shots. The second shot, this one, provided the glistening effect I was wishing for.Editing
No unusual post processing was used for this processing. I may have adjusted the contrast a little. In my camera bag
This shot was taken with a Sony body, which was the only camera I had at the time. I now use a Nikon D3200, but I carry the same accessories for each camera body. I have a polarized filter, extra batteries, and remote release device.Feedback
Always look for opportunities. Some of the best may well be in your own backyard.
