I live in Tennessee. My Dad and I used to go to Bennett Springs for a week or two every year. This dam was his favorite place to fish on the whole stream. The last time that he got to go was in 1972. Thanks for the memories.

This image was taken at Bennet Springs State Park in Southwestern Missouri on an absolutely beautiful fall day.

Time

This was taken late afternoon.

Lighting

There was full sunshine this day.

Equipment

Nikon D5100. The camera was brand new at the time so I was shooting everything!

Inspiration

Watching the fly fishermen above the dam was quite beautiful, and late afternoon the number of fisherman was reduced. In the morning, they can be shoulder to shoulder! The contrast of the rushing waterfall with the calm surface of the pool above it and the fall foliage backdrop caught my eye.
