Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the Valle Caldera in the morning. In order to be there at that time we had to rent the Bunk House so we could experience the sunrises and sunsets. There was a large patch of pestemons near the road.Time
The photo was taken just after sunrise and the sky was very blue and the pestimons were still being lit by the morning sun.Lighting
The sun was to the left and nearing the end of the golden time.Equipment
The camera is a Canon 50D with a wide angle lens, and tripod. I used F22 and a manual focus to get the pestimons in focus along with the rest of the photo.Inspiration
I had attempted this photo several times and only achieved the photo I wanted a couple of times. This photo was the best of the attempts.Editing
Yes, there is some post-processing in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I usually carry a 28-105mm, 10-22mm, 70-300mm and a 50mm prime in my bag. These lenses usually cover most if not all situations I usually shoot. I sometimes pull out the heavy 100-400mm if I know I need that to get up close.Feedback
The key to this photo is a tripod, high F-stop, manual focus 3-7 feet from lense and use the timer.
