Beautiful seascape. Amazing how many different shades one can find among the grays and tans of this photo. Congratulations on being featured!

I took this photo on Crete at the Red Beach near Matala.Time
As seen in the photo this photo was taken right before sunset.Lighting
I wanted to transport the warmth of this evening on this wonderful beach so I took the orange sky the reflections in the water and the stones and rocks flooded by that orange light into the picture.Equipment
I've used a Canon 5d Mk II, a tripod, a nd filter and the great Canon 16-35/4 L IS for this picture.Inspiration
During my holiday on Crete I took several photos - and some aren't that bad, but I wanted to transport a special holiday mood with the 'AWWWW' effect in one of my pictures and on this particular day everything seemed perfect to go to this beach and catch this special light and mood.Editing
I've put together the picture from 2 exposures in the same minute so I had a perfect exposure like a hdr but without using a hdr software, which in my opinion is to rude and destroys a lot of the mood in a picture. I've put together the two layers in Photoshop manually for better control. The rest of the post-processing is more standard and marginal. In my camera bag
Usually I've got my Canon 5d Mk II Canon 16-35/4 L IS Canon 70-200/4 L IS Canon 50/1.8 a Velbon Sherpa Pro tripod and a lot of filters (gradient, nd, polar) with me. This is my equipment for landscape photography - for nature, macro and sports it's quite different.Feedback
Concerning landscape photography: do some planning! If you're on a holiday explore the landscape and think about the time when it's best to venture there. And have a look for the route of the sun and the weather forecast. There are apps who could help and Google maps helps as well for finding nice places for your landscape pictures.
