St. Catherine's Oratory is the remains of a medieval lighthouse found on the southern coast of the Isle of Wight.
This stone structure was originally constructed by Walter de Godeton as penance for stealing wine from a shipwreck back in 1313. Today the tower is known to locals as the "Pepperpot", and is Britain's only surviving medieval lighthouse.
