Captured at: Alligator River Wildlife Refuge
Outer Banks, NC.
So this black bear's name is really not Waldo, but it certainly might fit... It sure seemed like he wanted to play a game of hide and seek while hanging out in the wheat fields of Alligator River Wildlife Refuge. One minute we're driving past this field, and the next my new friend Waldo was popping his head up to say hello.
This was an amazing afternoon to say the least, as I had never before had the opportunity to photograph these beautiful animals. I can't say enough about our amazing and incredibly knowledgeable guide: Mark Buckler. Mark's knowledge of the local wildlife and the surrounding areas absolutely made this unique experience possible.
If you're ever looking for a photo workshop along the OBX (birds, bears, landscapes, etc.), I'd certainly recommend looking him up. Mark's website is: bucklerphoto.com-
The Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge is home to one of the largest populations of black bears in eastern North Carolina. The refuge spans approximately 152,000 acres, or approximately 28 miles north-to-south and 15 miles east-to-west.*

"Where's Waldo?" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR, Photoshop and various Topaz Labs Plugins (Adjust, AI Clear, Denoise, Glow, Impression and LensFX).
