Location
This was captured at the familys industry's backyard. It has some grass and a few tress, and a lot of dogs!Time
Near the sundown, a little bit before the golden hour, the tress were casting some good and soft shadows over a small bit of grass, and there was a bowl of puppies brought by the childs mother. Really fun to shoot.Lighting
Soft daylight is easy to click. This one is more about moment than light by itself. Of course you need the softener and tenderness light you might get to show the purity and inocence of the babies there.Equipment
A canon 5D mkII and a 70-200mm 2.8 L II. Easy and simple setup.Inspiration
I was capturing this baby and his dogs for a good while, and noticed that this little pupy, named Sunny, was in love with the baby. She almost did everithing to get his attention. So I just waited for the right moment, when she and he were sharing this profound eye conection, and click. Just loved it.Editing
The color version was good, and didn't needed nearly any treatment, besides color correction. But it wasn't as strong as this BW. BW in this case just focus you on the eye-to-eye connection. The love you can see floating around them.In my camera bag
For a baby sessions like this I'll go with a pair of Canon 5D mkII, the 70-200mm and 24-700mm 2.8, and a 50mm 1.4. And a big load of patience, and a bigger one of love.Feedback
Live the moment with your subject. It's really simple. You need to be connected with the scene you're trying to capture. Because this way you can predict what will come next. Which sentiments will be more powerfull to be captured. What you'll really need or want to be shown in your images.
