I love how you used a vintage camera for the shot. The kittens are adorable!

Congratulations on this wonderful image. It got a VERY close second place on my acrobatic cats challenge and I tell you, it was VERY close! I love this image, it's got humour and cutability, it's very well lit, perfectly composed and an all round winner. The only reason it didn't win for me, was that there was just a touch less of the "Acrobatic cat" than the other shot. Beautiful image though, well done indeed.

This is just so good. The timing is good, the composition is good, and the playful kittens make this exciting.

I used an overhead softbox, with one umbrella as the main.Equipment
Nikon F3, 125mm fixed lens, tripod, studio lighting as indicated, and seamless backdrops, including various textured clothsInspiration
My studio manager came in on a Saturday with a box full of kittens --- about a half dozen. I had a collection of antique cameras. Along with my studio manager and an assistant, they kept dropping kittens, and I kept firing away.Editing

Those who read this may think they need all this equipment and a lot of money. NOT so! Creativity is the name of the game. The studio is long gone, yet I can still use that same knowledge in creating images today. You create in your brain, not with the camera. Once you select a subject, you need to decide what you want to say about that subject, then decide on the lighting you require, determine perspective, design your composition, and go from there to ensure you have covered all the details to make sure your final image is a killer. It's called commitment and perseverance.
