Very interesting shot. What it tells me... like... 1939 the time 2nd world war hmmm maybee in Berlin... a cafe where young people meet maybe girlfriend ? It tells for itself a mystik story... like ... I need to figure out who are back of the door in that cafe... maybe soldiers?

Tells a great story. Wonder what he's doing in there. Good technical picture too.

Location
We were staying with friends in Germany, and taking day-trips to surrounding countries. This photo was taken in a small Austrian city.Time
mid-afternoonLighting
This was an overcast day, thus very flat light.Equipment
All our day-trips were ad-libbed through having the flexibility of my friend's car. All I had was my Nikon and zoom, traveling with a kind of a happy, casual, tourist-like approach.Inspiration
Leaving the United States to experience countries centuries so much older was a thrill unto itself, as well as the never-ending delights in architecture and people and costumes and customs. Inspiration is magic. Seeing a subject or scene sometimes feels like an attack on my brain. Then the raising of the camera takes reality into the discipline and art of composition. In this case, the monochromatic feel, accented with touches of contrasting color, made this discovery special.Editing
Only a minor exposure tweak. In my camera bag
I'm a Nikon guy: two bodies, three zooms, one macro...rarely all carried at the same time. Also included: filters, back up batteries, cleaning material, and two hands-off remotes.Feedback
Even in "non-dedicated" situations, I try to find an approach in my mind, thus a particular lens for how I want to tell my story, regardless of the subject(s)...or based on my intended, or possible, subjects. Every lens tells a different story. In a way it doesn't matter which lens. Creativity emanates from the mind. Creativity rises way above and beyond "point & shoot". Slow down. If it's worth shooting once, your subject is worth shooting more than once.
