This is a stunning capture!! Are you able to share the settings you used? I really struggle with getting my settings right for water.

Thankyou, fallie! This shot was was f/8, 1/2 second, ISO 100. It was a very overcast day. If it were sunny, I would have needed to use a strong ND filter go get an exposure of that length.

This is so gorgeous!!! I love the smooth water, the texture of the rocks, and the colorful leaves on them. It is impressive that you were able to get such smooth water at 1/2 a second. If it had been sunny, what type of ND filter would you have used and how strong? How would using the filter have changed the settings you used? I have a low quality adjustable ND filter. I'm in a wheelchair, so I often am not able to get where waterfalls are. However, I am occasionally by a river or lake and am continuing to try to get smooth water during sunsets. I have gotten some smooth water, but not quite as much as I would like. I'm thinking I may need to get a better quality/stronger ND filter or adjust the settings more. Again, so awesome!

Location
This photo was taken at Ricketts Glen State Park. I love waterfall pictures and this park has twenty four named falls, varying in height from thirteen feet to ninety feet high and of varying types. You can easily spend an entire day in the park, marveling at its beauty.Time
This shot was taken at about 1:00 PM in the afternoon.Lighting
I had planned the trip to Ricketts Glen for weeks. The day before the visit, the weather forecast called for rain all day. Fortunately, by the time I got to the park, it had stopped raining, but a nice cloud cover remained, creating wonderful light throughout the day.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 7D, 61mm, f/8. This shot is a composite of several shots at different shutter speeds. The camera was mounted on an Alta Vista tripod.Inspiration
My inspiration for this photo was my love of waterfall pictures. I love capturing the beauty of the falls, and using long exposures to further enhance the beauty of the flowing water.Editing
This image was produced by combining several images together in Photoshop. After blending the images, they were further enhanced using Topaz Adjust. In my camera bag
My primary camera is the Canon 7D. The lens I use most often is the kit lens that came with my first camera -- at some point I'll upgrade from there, but, for now, it still takes fine pictures. I also have a Canon 100mm macro lens and the "nifty fifty" -- the Canon 50mm 1.8. I also make sure to have my remote shutter release.Feedback
Ricketts Glen is a wonderful place to shoot waterfalls. However, when going there, make absolutely sure that you are wearing a good pair of hiking boots. To take this shot, or any time of long waterfall shot, it's essential to make sure that you have a tripod. To combine multiple images in this way, it is important that they be from the same position. If not, you'll have a very difficult time blending the images. In addition, at slower shutter speeds, the tripod is necessary to prevent camera shake.
