Location
This photo was taken at the Seaford Butterfly House in Seaford, Northern Ireland. The location has a butterfly house and a botanic style green house where the butterflies are free to fly around. They also have a section with birds like canary’s and parrots flying around.Time
It was around 1pm. My best friend and I had been exploring the area and decided to go in. We were the only ones there and the birds were friendly and curious.Lighting
The lighting was natural but because of the green house glass the light was slightly dappled and softEquipment
I used my canon 5D with a standard kit lens. No tripod, no flashInspiration
The bird was just so curious in what I was doing. But it stayed at a distance. But it’s watchful gaze caught my attention.Editing
Just general tweaking. Nothing major. In my camera bag
I usually had my 75mm, my telephoto/macro lens. I have an extra battery and memory card. I have business cards and a notebook and pen.Feedback
Even when you’re focused looking through your lens, be aware of what is going on around you. The saying “having eyes on the back of your head” is something that all photographers should practice. Keep your camera ready and your head on a swivel.
