For a college project that had to be based around "food". I, in my normal fashion, felt the urge to do something a little odd. Having previously completed a Typography project on headstones. I wanted something to continue to expand my abilities and subject range. I know this subject has been done many times before but this was my attempt at "showing the world" (my class) about genetically modified food.
It really just gave me the excuse to literally experiment in class while others were busy typing-writing away or off somewhere else taking photos.

Location
The photo was taken my college studio several years ago while I was studying photographyTime
I had a slot in the studio booked for around 1pmLighting
I wanted the lighting to look like it does in a lot of food shots. So nice, bright and clean.Equipment
My canon EOS 600D, tripod and trigger flashInspiration
We were studying food photography and I wanted to explore taking photos of food that you wouldn’t see on tv or in magazines. So I photographed “ugly” fruit and veg. That then evolved into exploring how the food we eat is often genetically altered.Editing
Only a little editing of making the apple pop a little more.In my camera bag
My camera body, 18-55mm, 75mm and telephoto-macro lenses, extra battery and memory cards, a notebook and pen and business cards.Feedback
Have fun. This was really fun and interesting to set up and figure out how to make the weirdest looking item
