I am voting on images and I want to really like this as it's very good but the water mark kills the composition. I love the mood it evokes. Love the minimalism. To make it just a bit stronger I would also take out the truck as it is detracting. Good work.

Location
I took this photo by the lake in Southern Ontario Canada, about a 10 min walk from my house.Time
Late morning on a very foggy day. I took a bike ride by the lake to get some fog photos. This was my favorite photo from that day. Did not bring a triopd so I ended up using the bike handles to steady the camera.Lighting
Foggy day down by the lake. Overcast and cloudy so not much sun.Equipment
Nikon D3200. No tripod or anything else.Inspiration
I was looking fog some good photos of layering with the fog. I saw the 2 trees, one a bit farther back from the other creating a bit of a layered effect that I was looking for. The trees were on a bit of a hill so it allowed me to stand down a bit from them and have a clean background behind them.Editing
Did not do a ton of post-processing. For the most part all I did was change to grayscale and turn up the contrast a bit.It was an overcast day so the photo was looking a bit dull before I edited the contrast. In my camera bag
I am usually walking so I try to back as light as I can. I will typically bring a light tripod, some times the monopod. My ring light. And a lens change, usually macro and a zoom lens. And of course batteries.Feedback
Foggy days like that only happen every once in a while, so you have to be ready. Explore the area before so that when the day comes you have an idea of where you might like to go and what to shoot. And if your shots did not quite come out how you had hopped on your first shoot, be sure to review and take a look at where you can improve next time.
