Grand Jury Winner

"Excellent use of convergence and leading lines with wonderful symmetry.  The viewer is drawn to the silhouette of the lady beautifully framed within the brightest region of the image.  Sufficient light passes through the material of the dress that shows not only the beautiful curves but also the light airy texture  The lady’s pose and positioning of her arms shows a elegant flow of the female form." - Shiv Verma

Runner Up

"The maker has done a very nice job of capturing the sunrise through the fog.  The image is well balanced with the tree in the right background balancing the man and his horse in the left foreground.  The diagonal of the fence and its undulation further enhances the story where it appears that the man started early or has been traveling through the wee hours of the morning." - Shiv Verma

Runner Up

"A excellent backlit profile where the maker has maintained the rim-light defining the profile and has created a good separation from the background.  Further, the detail of the girl’s hair shows appropriate exposure setting for the silhouette." - Shiv Verma

Runner Up

"A well composed image with dual elements of interest.  The person walking through the trees is a well defined silhouette with the rays of the sun filtering through the trees casting lovely warm light on him.  The maker has captured a nice starburst by appropriately positioning the edge of the tree trunk for this effect.  Also relevant are the shadows cast by the trees that act as leading lines for the secondary element." - Shiv Verma

Congratulations Amateur Winner "Giraffes - Sunset Giraffe Silhouettes" by CathyWithers-Clarke

"This image of the adult and calf giraffes is a wonderful representation of the creatures’ environment. Wildlife action with the two walking across the twilit horizon with the faint crescent moon just enough to breakup the negative space in this well composed image." - Shiv Verma
