At the Backfire motorcycle meeting in Ballard, Seattle, WA.Time
It was late evening in September, light was disappearing quickly.Lighting
Shot using an on camera Canon 430EX flash set on auto.Equipment
Camera was a much loved Canon 5D, hand held with an on camera 430EX flash.Inspiration
It was a motorcycle meeting that I had been planning to shoot for a while. My model, a fellow photographer, was up for dressing in her tight blue jeans, boots and pretty red high heels. Amongst the bikes was a matching red Moto Guzzi bike. A quick word with the owner and she was allowed to climb all over it, posing for the camera. As I looked down ther was the picture - Blue jeans, red high heels, red trim on the bike with the contrasting aluminium engine. I got down on the road and snapped it.Editing
No post processing, it is as it came out of the camera. Just the way I like it. I am a lazy photographer and don't like to do much post processing. In my camera bag
Depends on the shoot, for dance photography I take my Canon 5D with Canon 24-70 f2.8 L and 70-200 f2.8 L IS lenses and the Canon 430EX flash. Other lenses vary from day to day, for wild life and airplane shoots I will swap the 70-200 for the Canon 100 - 400 f4.5 - 5.6 L IS lens. More general or architecture work I will add the 17-40 f4L lens. For fun close up work I will go for my Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens. Love that lens.Feedback
Always look at things from a different angle. With so many people taking photographs it pays to find that different view of the same thing.
