Behind The Lens

Location

A small back street, Anghiari, Tuscany, Italy

Time

An evening walk.

Lighting

It was a lovely suny day, as evening fell the light changed. I saw the glow of the street light and the setting sun reflecting off the walls of the building. It looked so good.

Equipment

I was on a walk around with my Canaon 5D MkII, no tripod, 24-70 f2.8 L lens. With the low light and no tripod I had to rely on hi ISO 1600, slow shutter speed 1/6th and a wide apperture of 4.0.

Inspiration

As I walked past the street the central line of cobbles leding up the road towards the street light and the gentle curve at the end appealed to me.

Editing

I am generally lazy when it comes to post processing, so this is as shot.

In my camera bag

For a walk around I generally take my pocket Lumix 7, for more dedicated shooting I like to use either my MkI or MkII Canon 5D with a 24-70 f2.8 lens attached. Unless I am doing something more specific such as architecture or detail close work, then I will throw in my 17-13 or 100 f2.8 macro lens.

Feedback

Take a camera with you, keep looking around you. See what catches you eye, then work out what you like about it, the try and capture it.
