Behind The Lens

Location

Wandering the streets of downtown Spokane, WA this alley was the perfect backdrop.

Time

We wandered for a good hour leading up to sunset and I snapped this photo just as the streetlights were starting to flicker on the streets tucked in the shadows of the tall buildings.

Lighting

This photo was timed to the failing light at dusk and I added a bit of flash to brighten up the subject's face.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mk II & Speedlight

Inspiration

I take a fair number of senior photos for kids going into their final year of high school. This one was scheduled to take advantage of the golden hour and the lights of our urban downtown district.

Editing

Basic corrections for color, lens distortions and sharpening in Adobe Camera RAW.

In my camera bag

Canon 5D Mk IV currently, 28-70 f/2.8L lens, 17-35, 85mm, 35mm, 580ex speedlight, remote, tripod
