This desk is in an authentic Forest Service Rangers cabin on the grounds of the High Desert Museum in Oregon USA. The cabin was built in 1932. Everything in the building is as it was in 1932. Notice the phone equipment on the desk by the typewriter. There are bells, phone jacks and a phone. The bells and phone jacks were connected to fire lookouts in the area. When a bell rang it signaled a fire at that location. The ranger at the desk would then send out a fire alert. The poster above the desk was very interesting to me. I tried to find one on the internet but no luck in my price range.

I visit as often as I can. The museum is two hours north of my home in Chiloquin.

Very cool and historical shot Russell. Since I worked in the fire service for 34 years this really peaked my interest.
