Location
I gathered this image while exploring the canals near the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice Italy. As I was exploring I came across a tall palace building that had been converted into a museum. I found myself alone on the top floor of the museum and noticed an open window high on the wall and a table close bye. I moved the table over to the window and climbed up and leaned out and and liked what I saw. I focused and gathered several images and then quickly climbed down and moved the table back where it belonged. This image was the one I chose to share.Time
I gathered this image on 10/05/07 at 11:29 am. As you can see in the image it had been raining which often helps with the light reflections. The color of the buildings, boats, bridges and people just seem to pop out of the image due to the rain. I was very fortunate to have been able to gather this image.Lighting
I was very pleased with the lighting as it was very close to noon. With the sun high, the shadows are directly under the bridges which helps the composition. The lighting also helps with all the detail in the image like the shadows of the people crossing the center bridge.Equipment
I gathered this image with my Olympus SP55OZ. No tripod was used or flash. The image was gathered hand held as I was leaning out a top floor window.Inspiration
I am always on the lookout for interesting images to gather no matter where I happen to be. This image is of every day, off the beaten path, Venice Italy.Editing
I process all my images with the latest Photoshop CC programs. I start by downloading my images with Adobe Bridge CC 2017. I then sort and select the images that I find interesting and then process the selected images with the latest version of Photoshop CC. I have found that my Drobo, off computer storage, is very helpful in storing all my images and then locating the images I choose to process. I will often return from vacation or a photo gathering journey with hundreds of high resolution images. Off computer storage is a very good thing to have.In my camera bag
My camera bag is way to heavy! I am on the hunt for a better system. My current camera bag always carries my Olympus E-5 digital camera along with my four favorite lenses: my Zuiko Digital 50-200, my Zuiko Digital 12-60 my Olympus Digital 50 mm 1:2 Macro ED and my Olympus OM-System Zuko Reflex 500mm 1:8. A remote shutter release is nice to have for when I am using my tripod. Also I carry extra charged batteries, cleaning supplies and extra rubber view finder, as I lost one once. I also carry my camera manual as my memory some times disappears. A snack and a small bottle of water is also nice to have along.Feedback
