lljubadjordjevic, Thanks for your kind comment. What I did not discover untill after processing was the way the heat off the runway affected the buildings in the background in a very interesting way.

It looks like a Edge 540 as you say. If this was taken in the US, it is most likely Kirby Chambliss! Awesome shot!

tylerfurnas, Thanks for your comment. Kirby Chambliss was at most if not all the air shows that I photographed for the Santa Rosa Air Museum so the pilot is most likely Kirby as you mentioned. What I did not discover untill after processing was the way the heat off the runway affected the buildings in the background in a very interesting way.

Location
I gathered this image of the Red Bull, Zivko Edge 540, on a Steep Vertical Take Off at the Santa Rosa Airshow in August of 2011.Time
I gathered images for The Santa Rosa Air Museum, at their Airshows for several years. I would arrive early and work through the day. This image was taken at 9:50 in the morning.Lighting
The morning lighting could not have been better!!! When I was processing the image I noticed how the heat from the runway was distorting the buildings in the background. I feel that this natural distortion adds a lot to the image.Equipment
I gathered this image with my Olympus E-5 Camera hand held. My Zuiko Digital 50-200mm lens is my most used lens while gathering images on the flight line. The Zuiko Digital 50-200mm lens is a perfect match for my Olympus E-5. A tripod would just be more to carry and was not really necessary.Inspiration
I had flight line access while gathering images! There was action all around where I was working on the flight line!! I always need to to be alert and aware!! Every minute presented a new opportunity for image gathering!!Editing
I process all my images with Adobe Photoshop CC 2017. Some images require more processing that others!!In my camera bag
My Camera Bag is way to Heavy!!! In my camera bag: My camera of choice is an Olympus E-5. I have four Zuiko Digital Lens: 50-200mm,12-60mm, 50mm1:2 Macro and a Zuiko Reflex 500mm. Also there assorted lens filters, cleaning supplies, an extra eye piece as I lost one on location once. My Olympus E-5 Manual as my memory some times takes a nap. A bottle of water. A snack if I get low blood sugar. A few white cloth towels and always the last minute grab.Feedback
Always have your camera with you!! If you see something interesting stop and gather several images. Change to a different lens. Change your perspective. Make a note of the time of day. Most of all enjoy yourself!!
