I can just feel the mist and feel and hear the thunderous power of these falls. Wonderful shot!

Location
I was on a road trip to Whistler, BC, Canada. I saw a sign for Provincial Park and decided to explore. Imagine my joy when I came across this spectacular view of Shannon Falls.Time
This photograph was taken in the late morning. The capture was even more dramatic due to the shroud of clouds, mist and fog.Lighting
Low light situation due to the gray sky, mist and fog, The subdued light added to creating great mood and a very dramatic scene.Equipment
My Nikon D5000, using a 300mm lens.Inspiration
I was inspired by the grandeur, amazing power and beauty of this waterfall. It was truly an "awe" moment.Editing
Minimal fine tuning using the camera edit settings on iPhoto. In my camera bag
I carry my Nikon D5000 camera, my Tamron 16-300mm and Nikon 18-55mm lens, an extra battery and memory card. My iPhone as a trusted backup.Feedback
Exploring to find unique and beautiful places is a great starting point. Once you determine the image you want to capture, frame it in. I find that taking multiple shots from different angles is very beneficial. The weather and subdued light was pivotal in this particular capture.
