Location
This photo was taken during the trip to Polish part of High Tatras which took place in May, 2016. Me and my friends had plans to live in mountain hotel near Morskie Oko lake, do some trekking and then climb a couple of alpine peaks. But the weather let us climb only one of them.Time
I woke up in the morning and went outside my apartment to look what was going on outside. To tell you the truth, i had little hope that i was going to shoot something special because the weather wasn't very good during this trip. But this time an exception happened.Lighting
I did wake up in the morning but not that early in the morning as a photographer should to because...well, the weather wasn't very promising and i was somewhat exhausted after the climb which took place the day before. That's why i missed the sunrise and even the golden hour. But the orientation of this mountain range made this image possible in that particular moment.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5100, with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. No other equipment was involved, but i certainly wouldn't mind having a tripod and a shutter release that day.Inspiration
Well, i wouldn't say that traveling is everything to me, but it is a huge part of my life. Any new location is inspiring to me. I love the nature and especially the mountains and love to capture this beauty with my camera. And, if i can inspire someone else with my photographs, than it's just the icing on the cake.Editing
Not as much as landscape photography frequently requires to do. That time post-processing included stitching two photographs into one panoramic one, slight distortion correction, cropping, some work with tonal range, adding some clarity, a little bit of color correction and global sharpening. In my camera bag
Currently i own only one camera body which is Nikon D5100 and one lens which is AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6. Also in my bag are polarizing and ND filters, a shutter release and a lens pen.Feedback
Well, to be honest, we have chose not the best time of year to visit this location, because it's often raining or even snowing in High Tatras in spring. But, at the same time, highly overcast days and weather changes can produce some stunning views. When you're in the mountains, you have to be prepared for abrupt weather changes and, if you're mentally, technically and physically ready, aware of weather forecast and lucky enough, then you might get highly rewarded with the resulting images. You have to prepare yourself, learn more about specific location's weather features and have patience and then you're very likely to get the result you desire.
