Location
This photo was taken in January, 2016 during the New Year trip to Carpathian mountains.Time
That frosty morning we woke up before the sunrise after the night spent in a mountain hut. The sunrise was spectacular and the location was beautiful, but this photograph stands out.Lighting
The photo was taken during the Golden Hour. The clouds only enhanced the brilliance of the lighting.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5100, with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Also i was fortunate to have a tripod.Inspiration
I'm absolutely in love with traveling, especially traveling to the mountains. And my favorite time of year to travel to the mountains is winter. Love snow-covered mountains and clear frosty air with no haze. When it's this way, you can see all the landscape in front of you for hundreds of kilometers and recognize all the familiar peaks that you have climbed in the past and the peaks you plan to climb. And, of course, that provides a lot of photographic opportunities and inspires you.Editing
Not much. That time post-processing included some work with tonal range, adding some clarity, a little bit of color correction and global sharpening. In my camera bag
Currently i own only one camera body which is Nikon D5100 and one lens which is AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6. Also in my bag are polarizing and ND filters, a shutter release and a lens pen.Feedback
When you're in the mountains, you have to be prepared for abrupt weather changes. You should be mentally, technically and physically ready, and be aware of the weather forecast. Winter in the mountains is no joke. You should prepare yourself, learn more about specific location's weather features and have patience and some luck. Then you're very likely to get the result you desire.
