Behind The Lens
Location
The image was shot in the woods surrounding the local reservoir in Shelton, Conn.Time
It was very early morning- my camera was set to actually shoot another subject- as I was walking towards the water the sun blasted through the trees and lit up the leaf carpet in front of me. I simply pointed and shot the scene as it seemed to appear without changing settings. The result was agreeable to me!Lighting
With the sun in front of me I was thinking there would be flare to deal with, but the effect was minimal and enhanced the shot.Equipment
I used a Canon T3i with a Tamron 28-75 mm lens, no flash and hand held. I always keep a polarized filter on the lens.Inspiration
As the scene rapidly unfolded before me I really felt a sense of peace and serenity at the sight. I needed to shoot it!Editing
I lightened the image slightly and enhanced the leaf color to make it pop a bitIn my camera bag
I usually carry 2 cameras- the T3i and a second unit, a Canon 60D with a Tamron 10-24 mm lens, a Speedlight, spare batteries and cards, a notebook and pen.Feedback
The morning light is unbeatable for the best results.
