Location
This picture was shot at the heavy rock festival Copenhell that takes place in Copenhagen every year in June. This is Zakk Wylde, vocalist and guitarist in the American metal band "Black Label Society" and it was shot at the festival in 2014.Time
"Black Label Society" was the closing act on the first day of the festival and played just before midnight.Lighting
The lighting was, as it's often the case when shooting at concerts, very hard to work with. There wasn't a lot of it and of course it had a great variation in both strength and color. I was forced to work with a higher ISO than I like (1600 ISO), but it actually turned out quite good.Equipment
The equipment used for the shot was my Canon EOS 5D Mk II and my EF 24-105 f/4 lens - my standard kit at the time.Inspiration
I shoot a lot of concerts at festivals and this was just "another day at the job" (but a very nice day indeed)Editing
I always shoot in raw and do my raw conversion in Lightroom. For black and white conversion I use Silver FX Pro, which gives me the black and white look I like: A good contrast and a grainy "film look".In my camera bag
At the time this picture was taken I was a Canon shooter and my standard kit was a Canon 5D Mk II, a 7D Mk II, a 17-40 mm. lens, a 24-105 mm lens, a 70-200 mm lens and a 85 mm lens. I rarely use flash. But since then I've made a switch to Fuji: X-T1, 35mm, 90 mm and 16-55 mm zoom.Feedback
Concert photography is fun, but it's also hard. Everything happens very fast and the light is changing all the time. I usually shoot in aperture priority mode as the depth of field is what I care the most about, and then I watch out for my shutter time.
