I am guessing this is the North Shore of Oahu. One of my favorite places to shoot these beauties.

I really like the shot, there's nothing I would point at, except.. there is no rhyme or reason for the vignette over the sky or the entire frame, there's no native shadow or dark contrast, it's distracting. The turtle is beautiful, it's just the vignette is not warranted. I'd say dodge/burn the below the horizon line to center the turtle/subject, but not the obvious "dark circle" drawn around your well composed shot. This might win your next contest. Keeping it real to most extents, helps. :)

Location
This Photo was taken at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park on the Island of Oahu just west of the nostalgic village of Haleiwa.Time
According to the time stamp on the image it said 3:27pm, but that would be my time, so 11:27am Hawaii time. Which makes sense as I had to drive from the South side of the Island where I was staying in Ewa.Lighting
It was a beautiful day, like always in Hawaii, just pure natural sun light.Equipment
Was using my brand new Canon 7D Mark ii with the EFS 18-135mm lens it came with. Hand held just inches above the sand.Inspiration
As I look back, I ended up taking 50 shots of this turtle from all different angles. Then I thought what about a low shot. But I didn't want to crawl in the sand. So this is actually a blind shot of just setting the camera as close to the sand as possible and snapping the shutter. It took a few shots to get one that was somewhat straight.Editing
Yes, I did my post processing using Lightroom. Auto Tone, bumped up the clarity to +50, Vibrancy to +24, Saturation to +29. Highlights up 15, lights down 20. Sharpening 61, Luminance 40 and Vignetting -40.In my camera bag
My Canon 7D Mark ii with the 18-135mm lens it came with. A Sigma DG 120-400mm 4.5-5.6 APO HSM and a Tripod, Gorilla pod, and a selfie stick for my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Cell Phone.Feedback
I guess try to see things from the perspective of the subject you are shooting. I tried all sorts of things on this trip just to see how things would look.
