Location
This image was taken just at dawn, on the Mesquite Dunes of Death valley National Park.It was a perfect windless morning, with clear golden hour light.Time
Dawn...Lighting
The early dawn light created long shadows, and the hill opposite, still in the pre-dawn shadow made for good color contrast to the brightly lit sand dunes...Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7000 through an 18-200mm VR lens, off a tripodInspiration
I loved being out there in the beautiful light with a couple of other early risers who were enjoying the spectacle, solitude and unbelievable natural beauty!Editing
I shoot in RAW, and all RAW images need to be developed, with basic sharpening and adjustment as needed. In my camera bag
In my bag I carry two Nikon full frame bodies, a D600 and a D810. They will most likely be mounted with a Nikon 16-35mm F/4 and a Nikon 24-70mm F/2.8 respectively. I carry other lenses too, a Nikon 28-300, a Sigma Art 50mm F/1.4, and a couple of Nikon SB-700s. I have a bunch of other lenses, but more and more I leave them home. For my kind of shooting, walking around and trying to comment on my world through my Photography, this kit seems to fit the bill...Feedback

Technical Quality (sharpness/exposure/DOF) All of these considerations are equally important, but without a heavy dose of #s 2 and 3, it is unlikely you are going to connect with your viewer...
