Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at the Molly Maguire gold mine in Victor, ColoradoTime
It would have been near mid-day in early fallLighting
It was pretty overcast - this was a pretty impromptu shot, visiting the mine was an afterthought - we discovered it's a cool place worth a visit though!Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 70D and Tamron 16-300mm lensInspiration
I just got a chuckle out of the sign!Editing
this is pretty much as-isIn my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon 80D with a Tamron 16/300mm mounted, and a 5D Mk III with any number of lenses, ranging from wide angle/fisheye to macro to telephoto depending on what I'll be shooting. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't plan shots beforehand - I'm a pretty impromptu/opportunistic photographer. I've found I spend the most time with various prime lenses and the 16-300mm Tamron though, the Tamron's range lets you capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the open - stay tuned though, the Tamron has compatibility issues with the 80D and locks it up, so there's a Sigma 18-300mm in the works as a possible replacement... :-)Feedback
You never know what interesting things you'll see to shoot at the odd roadside tourist trap!
